CM Yogi Adityanath orders WiFi and biometric attendance in all public schools in Uttar Pradesh

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Wednesday led the installation of WiFi in all public schools in Uttar Pradesh over the next 100 days.

Yogi Adityanath said that all schools should each have a website and email id for all students. Biometric attendance should be launched in all public schools, he told officials.

The “pankh” career guidance portal, online monitoring categorization and e-library portal should also be developed at the earliest, he said.

Yogi Adityanath said that a new exam model for class 10 board is expected to be implemented by 2023 while for class 12 exam it will be the same from 2025 for reforms structural and administrative.

Yogi Adityanath gave these guidelines while watching presentations on the education sector here. He said an action plan should be developed to improve learning outcomes, increase enrollment and reduce the dropout rate.

A new sports policy for the state is expected to be drafted soon, Yogi Adityanath said.

The public-private partnership (PPP) model should be followed for the establishment of sports colleges and sports academies at the divisional level, the chief minister said.

A career guidance unit should be set up in all educational establishments, added Yogi Adityanath.

Work is expected to begin for an internship program in grades 9 and 11 and work-oriented training. Assessment and certification of schools should start in five years, the chief minister said.

Yogi said a strategy should be developed for establishment of high schools and middle schools in uncovered areas within five years.

All schools must have smart classrooms, real-time monitoring, a student tracking system and an integrated data management system, he told officials.

He also said that the Sanskrit Education Directorate should be established within the next two years.

Stating that there was a need to link Sanskrit with technology, he said 180-hour certification and 360-hour diploma programs should be launched.

Vacancies on all teaching positions should be filled immediately, he said, adding that appointments should be made for yoga teaching positions.

Qualitative improvement should be made in the higher education sector in the next five years, the chief minister said. He ordered a portal to be launched in 100 days setting rules for online learning parks and ABACUS-UP in 120 government colleges. There should be a portal for applications for the establishment of private universities, he said.

The chief minister has instructed officials to ensure that incubators are launched at five government colleges and three state universities.

Since the University Grants Commission has authorized dual degrees, a strategy should be developed in the state for the same, he said.

The CM said the first phase of Ma Shakumbhari Devi University (Saharpur), Raja Mahendra Pratap Singh State University (Aligarh) and Maharaja Suheldev State University (Azamgarh) should be completed in 2023.

Arrangements should be made to learn the Japanese language and provide skilled workers for Japanese industry, he said.

The Chief Minister has called for a feasibility study and identification of land for the establishment of a skills university. He said the funds should be transferred via DBT to all students for the purchase of schoolbags, sweaters, shoes and socks.

Kasturba Gandhi School for Girls should be set up in every block of Uttar Pradesh, he added.
