Eight concentrations and majors within the School of Business at the University of Edinboro have earned 10-year unconditional accreditations through a leading global organization.
The Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) re-accredited Edinboro’s Bachelor of Science in Accounting, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration programs with concentrations in Comprehensive Business, Finance, Smart Business, Marketing and Personal Financial Planning, and Associate of Science in Administration Business.
The University’s business programs have been accredited by ACBSP since 2000.
“This reaffirmation of our accreditation validates the excellent work of our students and faculty at the University of Edinboro and the high quality of our programs,” said Dr. Scott Miller, Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs and Provost of Universities of Edinboro, California and Clarion. “Our students will continue to be well served by this accreditation as they progress in their careers and further education.”
Additionally, Edinboro received initial accreditation for the Masters of Business Administration program, which recently boasted its first official graduates.
“Our innovative MBA program was created to change the focus of the traditional MBA with a focus on stakeholders and decision-making,” added Miller. “We have also launched a program that leverages technology to provide maximum flexibility to the student. This accreditation confirms the value of the results obtained by the students and the work of our team to offer a high quality program that meets the needs of the students and the region.
ACBSP accreditation focuses on institutions that demonstrate excellence in teaching, promote student learning outcomes, and embrace a model of continuous improvement. Programs with a student-centered approach to teaching and learning are measured and analyzed for quality, ensuring that students acquire the right skills through their educational investment.
At Edinboro Accounting program, faculty help students gain an in-depth understanding of accounting, auditing theory, and best practices and guide them to internships for real-world training. Students develop analytical reasoning, critical thinking, and communication skills for any workplace.
In Global enterprisestudents learn diverse business functions – from management and finance to marketing, human resources, information resource management and business law.
Finance majors develop ethical judgment and critical thinking skills to be prepared to compete in today’s business world. Students also connect with many potential employers around Erie, Pittsburgh, Cleveland, and Buffalo.
Edinboro’s New Program – Smart business – is a member of the SAP University Allianceswhich provides access to enterprise systems technologies to learn and practice in the classroom.
Studying Marketing At Edinboro, students learn how to help businesses effectively create, communicate, and deliver messages about goods and services, conduct research, and manage the product lifecycle, while maximizing profits through decision making sensible and ethical.
In Personal Financial Planning, students gain a solid understanding of topics such as money and banking, investment analysis, and federal income tax regulations. Professors provide insight into the diverse functions of business, from accounting and economics to finance, marketing and business law. After completing this program, students are eligible to take the Certified Financial Planning® exam.
from Edinboro Master in Business Administration (MBA) is the only program in the region that meets the needs of students, according to their schedule and their conditions. Building on the reputation of the renowned undergraduate business administration program, the MBA offers graduates a truly integrated advanced business degree. The program focuses on the impact of financial and strategic decisions on all stakeholders, including employers, employees, suppliers, managers, investors, creditors and customers. Its unique multi-modal delivery provides ultimate flexibility by allowing students to choose to take classes face-to-face or online (live or self-paced) from week to week.
Edinboro’s Two Years Associate of Science in Business Administration provides students with fundamental knowledge in business disciplines such as economics, accounting, management and marketing.
