Ibadan Polytechnic Launches Open Distance Learning Program and Flexible Online Learning Program

Ibadan Polytechnic, in an effort to make education accessible to all walks of life, has launched the Open Distance And Flexible E-Learning (ODFeL) program.

Prof. Kazeem Adebiyi, Rector of the institution, told the public on Monday how the school will proceed with the new curriculum approved by NBTE, revealed that the curriculum was created to ease the frustration of millions of admissions applicants .

He said the program is an education program for everyone, regardless of a person’s ability.

He said: “Some people want to go to school but don’t have the opportunity, some are working class but don’t have the time, some are physically challenged, so this program will provide opportunities to all.”

While promising an uninterrupted academic calendar, the rector also said that classes will be taken online but exams will be physically written.

He said: “It will be an uninterrupted academic calendar with an immediate view of results online. The individual can study from anywhere and at any time while attending to work or family at their own pace.

“Students will also have access to lessons and course content online 24/7, but will require their physical presence for the exam. Students will be required to come to school for physical facilitation for one week and the examination will be on physical appearance.

“We have all the necessary resources in terms of technology and human resources”

Prof. Adebiyi added that Poly Ibadan ODFeL graduates will be deployed for the National Youth Service Corps besides adding that prospective ODFeL students will pay the application fee of N2000 and N5000 for ND and HND respectively (NYSC).

Further, he mentioned that the opening of the 2022-2023 academic year of the 2020 NBTE approved program has begun, with six courses including Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science, Mass Communication, public administration and local government studies among those currently offered. .

However, he said they plan to add more classes from the next session.
