As a mother of five children, my youngest being in grade five, I have a personal interest in the education of our schools in our community. Being so family oriented, I have always placed a high priority on education and believe it is of the utmost importance for our children as they are our future leaders. My guiding principle is that every student has the right to a high quality education and deserves a safe, happy and healthy learning environment. We face change and many challenges and I am fully invested in protecting our children and reflecting our family community values.
Raising a large family and volunteering with the Make-A-Wish Foundation is, I believe, solid training to give me the skills necessary for this position: the ability to mediate, to find a good compromise, to meet the challenges and obstacles head on, to get the best possible result. in difficult situations, managing and resolving unexpected fires and navigating complicated situations. Plus, it’s a great opportunity to be an advocate for our youth and give back to the community.
I believe students are best served when parents and families can play a role in their children’s education, which is why I decided to run and get involved. As part of this goal, we need to strengthen vital parent-teacher communication and encourage open dialogue.
My children are my greatest motivation and I believe that all children deserve the highest level of education possible in the safest environment for them. My priorities are focused on providing a transparent high academic standard and the general well-being of our students. It would be an honor and a privilege to be able to serve the students and families of Coronado by helping to improve our local education system.
