Penn State will host its annual Global Learning and Engagement Week Jan. 24-28 to educate students about an array of different study abroad opportunities.
Events at a handful of campuses will help students learn more about studying abroad as summer and fall travel deadlines approach. To check out some of the events taking place at University Park over the next week, check out our compiled list below.

Florence Institute of International Studies (ISI Florence)
monday january 24 — 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
At 410 Boucke Building, the ISI Florence program will host an information session about its summer and semester program. ISI Florence programs offer students the opportunity to study abroad in Florence, Italy through programs rooted in the liberal arts tradition.
Monash University SECIP Program
monday january 24 — 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
This information session on the Monash University SECIP Program will teach students the seven-week program which offers the opportunity to work and study with students from Monash University, located in Melbourne, Australia.
This event will be hosted on Zoom. Registration is required in advance.
Education Abroad 101 and Returning Student Panel
tuesday january 25 — 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
On Tuesday, January 25, Penn State will host a general study abroad information session for those interested in going international while in college. In the information session, education abroad peer counselors will share tips on how to get started, find a program that’s right for you, and more.
This event will be hosted on Zoom. Registration is mandatory.
Education Abroad Summer Programs Fair
Wednesday January 26 — 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
In the HUB’s Heritage Hall, Penn State Global will host a study abroad exhibit and information session for specific summer programs. Students are encouraged to attend if they wish to study abroad next summer or later.
Marketing your study abroad experience
Wednesday January 26 — Noon to 1 p.m.
The College of Liberal Arts will host an event on Wednesday, January 26 to teach students about the benefits of participating in a global learning opportunity, as well as how to use this as an advantage when looking for a job. The session will take place at 124 Sparks Building or on Zoom.
Gilman Scholarship Information Session
Wednesday January 26 — 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
The Undergraduate Research and Scholarship Mentoring Office will host a Gilman Scholarship Information Session on Wednesday, January 26 from 3-4 p.m. on Zoom. The scholarship aims to support students who wish to study abroad but who otherwise would not be able to do so due to financial constraints.
Registration is mandatory for this event.
Florence, Italy: Information session on the business world and Italian culture
Wednesday January 26 — 4:30 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The Smeal College of Business will host a Florence, Italy Study Abroad Program Information Session on Wednesday, January 26 at 102 Business Building. Students will be invited to experience the program where students can spend six weeks studying in Florence during the summer of 2022.
Go Global With STEM: Study Abroad at All Colleges
Thursday January 27 — Noon to 1:30 p.m.
All University Park STEM colleges will host this event on Thursday, January 27, which aims to help students find out how they can study abroad at all colleges. It will be hosted at 121 Noontime Lounge at the HUB.
