Southside Baptist Church, 525 S. Broad St., Mooresville, will shake up the Holiday Bible School this year by consolidating a full week of activities into three free sessions. The theme, “Concrete and Cranes”, is a holdover from the year 2020 COVID. Southside has fully opened, but ask those present who have not been vaccinated to wear a mask. Workers will strive to create a safe learning environment for all.
The children will look up – very high. We’re heading where the I-beams float effortlessly above the head, carefully guided in place by powerful machinery, and where steel and glass converge in a colossal design that almost seems to touch the sky. These magnificent structures have been painstakingly designed and constructed in an intricate manner. Yet they all started out the same way – with concrete and cranes, rivets and rebar, bulldozers and backhoes; and above all, a solid foundation. Children will learn that the love of Jesus will provide a lasting foundation. Every day, kids will do crafts, play fun games, enjoy delicious snacks, sing cool songs and learn about missions.
VBS will begin at 6 p.m. on July 23-24. On July 25, it will start at 9:00 a.m. and the worship rally will be at 10:15 a.m. followed by lunch for all participants. Children aged 3 to those who have just completed sixth grade are welcome to attend. Children can be pre-registered by texting VBS at 704-270-5727.
Excavators and jackhammers, wrecking balls and blueprints are all part of building a solid foundation. Bring your kids to join us on this new level. We will enjoy “work in progress”, “hard hat areas”, “model Bible studies” and “building on the solid foundation of Jesus”.
